Welcome back - Spring Term 2023

9th January 2023
It's great to be back! Lovely to see all of the children in school this morning all ready for the exciting year ahead of us!
A few updates from school as we begin the new term:
- THANK YOU: A huge thank you to everybody who donated prizes and bought tickets for our Christmas Raffle and 50/50 draws at the Christmas performances. We raised an incredible £780 for school funds. All of this money will help us to continue to provide amazing learning experiences both in and out of school for our children.
- AFTER-SCHOOL TUITION: This begins again next week (week beginning 16th January 2023) for children in years Reception, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Tuition will be focused on English and Maths and will be delivered by our LRPS teachers and teaching assistants. Further information will be sent out from your child's class teacher. There will once again be an incentive for children who attend all sessions!
- RUGBY: We are delighted to be welcoming Dan 'Bear' Gilroy back to LRPS this term for more rugby coaching. Bear will be with us every Thursday delivering a lunch-time club, afternoon coaching sessions and an after school rugby club for children in Years 3 and 4 (a letter with more information will be sent to Year 3/4 parents this week).
- STAY & PLAY: We are pleased to confirm that 'Stay and Play' for 0-3 year olds and their adults continues from this Wednesday 11th January, 9:30-10:30am in the Main Hall. 'Stay and Play' is jointly run by LRPS and Healthworks Pre-School staff and is free of charge.
- PARENTS EVENING: Our Spring term parents evenings will take place on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th January 2023 between 3:30 and 6:00pm. More information regarding booking an appointment will be sent out soon.
- UNIFORM: The children are looking super-smart in their LRPS uniforms this morning. A reminder that we have a range of good quality second hand uniform available in school, just give us a call or pop into the school office if you wish to browse. New uniform can be purchased from Elite Embroidery, Bells Close.
- DRINKS IN SCHOOL: We strongly advise that children bring their own water bottle to school with their name on every day. Still water or still fruit squash are allowed. No fizzy/isotonic/energy drinks please.
- ATTENDANCE: Attendance is looking really good this morning - remember it's really important to be here on time for 9 every day. Our prizes and initiatives for great attendance continue this term - for a reminder about our attendance initiatives, click here.
