Welcome back! September 2023 Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome and welcome back! Firstly a huge ‘welcome’ to all of the new children and families joining us at Lemington Riverside this September – it’s fantastic to have you all on board! A very warm welcome back to all of our returning children and families! We’ve had a wonderful first day back and the children all look so smart in their new uniforms.

Building and grounds improvements: Over the summer there has been a lot of activity within the school site; our dining hall and kitchen have been fully refurbished, we have a brand new purpose-built sensory room, ‘The Bridge’ has been refurbished, further improvements have been made to our Early Years garden and we have made further additions to our playground.

Boggle Hole Residential: Next week, children in Years 5 and 6 will be heading off on their residential to Boggle Hole on the North Yorkshire coast from Wednesday 13th September through to Friday 15th September. The coach will depart from Tyne View at 9:30am on Wednesday (parents are welcome to wave the children off if you wish!) and the children will return for approximately 2pm on Friday. If you have any questions about the residential, please see Mr. Murphy or Mr. Sayers.

On time, every day! Being in school, on time every day is so important for your child’s education and wellbeing. Don’t forget your child earns Lemington Pounds every day when they are in on time – these can then be exchanged for rewards in our school shop. Every Friday we have ‘Feast Friday’ where all children in school, on time for 9am are entered into a draw to ‘eat out’ at one of the Lemington cafes for their lunch! On two secret days each half term, we also have ‘Punctual & Proud’ days – all children who have been on time for the selected day and the three previous days are entered into a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher!

Riverside Wraparound: Our wraparound provisions continues to operate every morning from 7:45am and until 6pm each evening. Please note, due to low numbers attending, bookings MUST be made at least 24 hours in advance of children attending wraparound. Thank you for your support with this. To book a place for your child, please call or email the school office.

Drop off and pick up: A reminder that all of our classrooms open at 8:45am in the morning and children must be in class by 9am. A free breakfast is offered to all children every day between 8:45am and 9am. Children in Nursery finish school at 3:15pm every day, all other class finish at 3:30pm every day. Children in Nursery should be collected from the Nursery door, Reception from the Reception class door and all other children from the main playground (Years 1/2/3 exit via the Rokeby doors, Years 4/5/6 via the Sugley doors).
