We break up for the school holidays at the end of Thursday 21st December. School re-opens for the new term on Monday 8th January 2024.

Attendance and punctuality:

Our whole-school attendance has been better this term than in any previous autumn term in the past 5 years – well done! Thank you for continuing to work with us on this as great school attendance is so important for our children’s education and wellbeing.

A couple of reminders on attendance:

-       Children must arrive at school between 8:45-9:00am every day. Free breakfast is available during this time. We have a small number of children who are often arriving late – this means they are missing significant amounts of learning at the end of the day and it’s not nice when you join a lesson after it’s started.

-       If your child is not able to come to school because they are poorly, please ensure you have let us know by 9am on the day of absence. You can do this by calling 0191 267 4315 and pressing option 1 at any time or emailing admin@lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk.

-       If you’re not sure whether your child should attend or not if they’re unwell, we always use the NHS ‘Is my child too ill for school?’ guidance available by clicking here.

Merry Christmas:

Finally, from myself and the entire team here at Lemington Riverside, I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year. We are all very excited for another brilliant year here at LRPS in 2024!

Best wishes,

Mr. Heeley
