Welcome!

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the website of Lemington Riverside Primary School!

Lemington Riverside is a 3-11 year old primary school serving the suburb of Lemington in the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Our school is located across three large buildings that were built in the Georgian era.

Lemington is a community with a proud industrial heritage - but we are far more than that - we are a school and community passionate about providing the very best start in life to our children and equipping them to be outstanding citizens.

Since I became Head Teacher here, we have worked to create an awe-inspiring curriculum at Lemington Riverside, where we celebrate and develop all of our children's talents whether that be academic, sporting, artistic or musical. We have a talented staff team who are committed to providing a ground-breaking and unique curriculum for our children - we work with local universities, teaching schools and national educational organisations to ensure that our curriculum is based on the very latest academic research and innovations.

In April 2022, Ofsted inspected our school and judged it to be a 'Good' school. You can read the full report by clicking here.

We strongly believe that every child at Lemington Riverside should experience the full cultural offer of the magnificent North East region in which we are located. If your child is with us from Nursery to Year 6 they will experience every cultural venue in our city, visit every museum and gallery and explore our brilliant cities, our wild Northumberland countryside and our dramatic north-eastern coast!

At Lemington Riverside we like to say "we do things differently here", because we're not afraid to think out of the box and do things that work for our children and our community.

The best way to get a flavour of what we're about is to come and see us in person - I'm always happy to meet with any prospective parents or carers and take you on a tour of our school - use the contact details on our page to get in touch and arrange a visit!

Take care,

Craig Heeley (Head Teacher)
