Welcome to Lemington Riverside
Welcome to a primary school that embraces innovation and takes pride in being truly unique.
At Lemington Riverside Primary School, we are an inclusive and vibrant community at the heart of Lemington, overlooking the beautiful River Tyne. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 and are a one-form-entry school, with one class per year group, allowing us to build strong relationships and a close-knit school environment.
Our home is a striking Edwardian building, featuring bright, spacious classrooms, well-equipped libraries, ICT facilities, and inspiring outdoor spaces. In addition, our on-site community hub provides a wide range of activities, services, and support for pupils, families, and the wider community.
We believe primary education should offer far more than academic achievement alone. While our children leave us with strong outcomes, they also take with them rich experiences and lasting memories. Our unique “Lemington Riverside Experience” offers a diverse programme of cultural, creative, and sporting opportunities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff bring enthusiasm, expertise, and innovation into every classroom. They engage in ongoing professional development and educational research to ensure our curriculum remains ambitious, engaging, and relevant.
We are also proud of our exceptional pastoral care. With access to an in-house counsellor, occupational therapist, and a broad network of specialist support, we ensure every child receives the guidance and care they need to flourish.
At Lemington Riverside, we describe ourselves as “bravely different and proudly unique” — unafraid to think creatively and committed to doing what is best for our children and community.
We warmly welcome prospective families to visit us. If you would like to arrange a tour, please get in touch using the contact details on our website — we would be delighted to meet you.

Weโre delighted to introduce our fantastic new school minibus, which now has an official name chosen by our pupils!
Every child had the opportunity to suggest a name before our School Council carefully considered all the brilliant ideas and voted for their favourite. The winning name was โLemi-Busโ, suggested by Yasmine from Year 3. Congratulations, Yasmine! ๐
The bus will soon proudly display its name in the window so everyone knows who theyโre travelling with.
For those of a certain era it reminds me of a certain Vengaboys anthem so we might need to create a song to go with it...
A huge thank you to all of our children for their creativity and enthusiasm. We canโt wait for all the exciting trips, sporting events and learning adventures that Lemi-Bus will take our pupils on in the months and years ahead.

What an amazing start! ๐
We're delighted to share that 158 children have successfully completed the first part of our Attendance Streak Challenge and are still in the running for our fantastic prize draw! ๐
Keep the streak alive by being in school, on time, every day next week. Just five more days to go! ๐ช
Good luck to everyone still taking part โ we can't wait to see who our 12 lucky winners will be, remember the prize is a day out to the Metro Centre with a visit to choose a book of your choice from Waterstones followed by a McDonalds lunch! ๐๐๐

Much of the work has been focused on making our school more accessible for everybody - we have worked alongside Newcastle City Council to create two brand new ramp accesses to our dinner hall and also from our Early Years building into the Early Years garden.
We have carefully planned the works so that the brickwork and metal railings match the existing style of our beautiful school building.
The final touch was acting some colour to the old wooden extension with a colourful piece of art work and planting some wild flowers to bring colour and life!
