Welcome to Lemington Riverside
Welcome to a primary school that embraces innovation and takes pride in being truly unique.
At Lemington Riverside Primary School, we are an inclusive and vibrant community at the heart of Lemington, overlooking the beautiful River Tyne. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 and are a one-form-entry school, with one class per year group, allowing us to build strong relationships and a close-knit school environment.
Our home is a striking Edwardian building, featuring bright, spacious classrooms, well-equipped libraries, ICT facilities, and inspiring outdoor spaces. In addition, our on-site community hub provides a wide range of activities, services, and support for pupils, families, and the wider community.
We believe primary education should offer far more than academic achievement alone. While our children leave us with strong outcomes, they also take with them rich experiences and lasting memories. Our unique “Lemington Riverside Experience” offers a diverse programme of cultural, creative, and sporting opportunities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff bring enthusiasm, expertise, and innovation into every classroom. They engage in ongoing professional development and educational research to ensure our curriculum remains ambitious, engaging, and relevant.
We are also proud of our exceptional pastoral care. With access to an in-house counsellor, occupational therapist, and a broad network of specialist support, we ensure every child receives the guidance and care they need to flourish.
At Lemington Riverside, we describe ourselves as “bravely different and proudly unique” — unafraid to think creatively and committed to doing what is best for our children and community.
We warmly welcome prospective families to visit us. If you would like to arrange a tour, please get in touch using the contact details on our website — we would be delighted to meet you.

What’s Happening...
What many people don't realise is that over the summer holidays our staff still pop in to ensure the building looks fantastic for the children when they return in September.
We are super proud of one of our brand new learning spaces, Bridge: Explorers.

Over the summer we have had this new ramp installed at the Rokeby Street entrance to the main building meaning we now have fully accessible entrances at both sides of our main building.

We are very excited to take our Year 5 and Year 6 children to Ford Castle in Northumberland later this week for an adventure residential!
Children should arrive at school at the normal time on Wednesday, bags can be stored in the downstairs hall before we depart. A reminder that children need to bring their own bedding/pillow as well as their belongings. A reminder that children also need a packed lunch on Wednesday. All other meals will be provided at Ford Castle.
Children should be collected from school at the normal time of 3:30pm on Friday when we return.
Children should NOT bring any electronic items, including mobile devices. Children also do not need any spending money as there will be nowhere to spend it.
As of today, the weather forecast is looking nice with an average day-time temperature of 18 degrees C and no forecasted rain. However, please do pack for a range of conditions just in case!
Children do not need to wear school uniform on Wednesday. They should wear comfortable clothes and remember to pack old clothes and nothing you don't want to get muddy!
We will be travelling to/from Ford Castle by private coach and we will also be taking our school mini bus.
If your child requires any medication whilst they're aware, please ensure you have spoken to Mrs. O'Driscoll and filled in all relevant forms BEFORE Wednesday.
We are proud that we have secured funding to ensure this residential can be offered to our families at no cost meaning all children can attend without any financial barriers.

A huge well done to our Lemington Heroes for the first week of term who we celebrated in our assembly this afternoon!
Every adult that stood up in assembly today said that they could have nominated anybody in their class this week - that sums up what a fantastic start to the term it's been!
