Lemington Heroes: 13 February 2026
We are proud to share our Lemington Heroes from our assembly today! There were so many children nominated for so many reasons.
A huge well done to Maisie from Year 5 who was the winner of our Newcastle United Reading Challenge!
Maisie was one of a number of children who had read every single day since the challenge began. All of the children who had read every day went in to a prize draw that was made in our Heroes assembly this afternoon on the big screen.
Maisie now wins the incredible prize of visiting the Newcastle United first team training ground to meet the first team players and get her favourite book signed by the players!
All of the other children who read every single day will also win a £10 Waterstones voucher as recognition for their incredible efforts.
We are so proud of the impact of this challenge - we have seen so many children reading more often at home building up their reading confidence and of course their knowledge, vocabulary and love of reading too!
Our attendance champions this week were Mrs. Corr's year 3 class.
Our overall attendance champions for the first half of the spring half term were Mr. Carter's Year 2 class! Mr. Carter's class win a cinema afternoon for the full class in spring term 2!
