Flu immunisations

The Northumbria Healthcare School Aged Immunisation Service will once again be offering the seasonal flu vaccination to children in Reception to Year 6 during the autumn term.
The flu vaccine helps to protect your child from becoming unwell and also helps reduce the spread of flu to family members, friends and others who may be more vulnerable.
How the vaccine is given
- Most children receive the vaccine as a quick nasal spray.
- If your child is unable to have the nasal spray and requires the injection, this will be offered at a community clinic rather than in school.
