OCTOBER 2021 NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents, Carers and the Lemington community,
NORTH EAST WELLBEING AMBASSADOR SCHOOL:
We are proud to have been chosen to be a ‘North East Wellbeing Ambassador School’. The ambassador status recognises the large amount of work we have done and continue to do to support your child’s mental health and well-being at school.
PARENT/CARER BOOK SWAP:
We are currently refurbishing our main entrance area at school and one of the new features is our parent/carer book swap. We have a good collection of books for parents/carers to borrow – feel free to pop in and borrow one. Also, if you have any books at home that you no longer read, we’d love it if you added them to our collection!
YEAR 1/2/3 END OF THE DAY ROUTINES:
Please can we ask all Year 1/2/3 parents/carers to wait on the main playground for their children at the end of the school day and not on the narrow path near to the building exit. The larger space on the main playground makes it a lot easier for staff to ensure children are dismissed safely and quickly. Thank you.
EARLY COLLECTIONS:
Children can only be collected earlier than the normal finish time in exceptional circumstances and if this has been agreed in advance with the Head Teacher. Thanks for your cooperation with this.
CONTACT NUMBERS:
Please can all parents/carer make sure that we have at least one number we can contact you on in an emergency. You can let us know if your contact details change either by calling 0191 267 4315 or emailing admin@lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk
FOOTBALL:
It’s been a really positive start to the season for our football teams – our Y5/6 girls’ team had their first games in the ESFA Cup with Paige from Y6 scoring a great goal! Our Y5/6 boys team equally represented us well in the ESFA Cup and have also made a great start to the new Duffy League season with notable victories over Waverley and St. George’s! They currently sit 2nd in the league table, just behind Throckley.
