NOVEMBER 2019 NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to a brand new half term at Lemington Riverside! This half term is always action packed as we lead up to Christmas and the many celebrations and events that happen in November and December.

Our whole-school topic this half-term is ‘Celebrate and Remember’ – we will be focusing on celebrating and remembering the fantastic work of our Armed Forces, past and present, and towards the end of the half term leading up to our Christmas performances!

‘MIGHTY NORTH’ OPEN MORNING:

Thank you to everybody who came along on the final Friday of last half term for our open morning. The children proudly showed off their work that they had completed about ‘The Mighty North’. It was lovely to see so many of you there!

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS:

All children will have their individual photographs taken by a professional photographer on Wednesday 6th November. There is no obligation to buy the photos, but you will have the opportunity to do so if you wish!

CHILDREN IN NEED 2019:

To mark ‘Children In Need’ 2019 we will be having a ‘Pyjama/Onesie Day’ on Friday 15th November. Children are welcome to come to school in their PJ’s or onesie in return for a suggested donation of £1. Please remember to still send your child with a big coat for playtime!

REMEMBRANCE DAY 2019:

Remembrance Day takes place on 11th November 2019 and we currently have on sale a variety of poppy-themed items available from the Main Office at break time and lunch time every day. Items are priced between 50p and £1.50 with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.

ALDI SPORTS VOUCHERS:

A huge thank you to everybody for sending in your Aldi Sports Vouchers. We have filled our sticker chart and will now receive brand new sports kit for our school, as well as the chance to win £20,000!

FOOTBALL:

Our boy’s football team started their Duffy League season a couple of weeks ago with two defeats and a victory. Our next games are on Thursday 14th November when we take on Hilton (Come on Lemington!), Throckley, St. Cuthbert’s Walbottle and Throckley. All the games are at Walbottle Campus and kick is approximately 3:50pm.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:
