11th May 2020

Dear Parents, Carers and the Community of Lemington,

Following last night’s announcement that the Government may begin to partially re-open schools on the 1st June 2020 for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 children we can assure you that we will be working hard over the coming days and weeks to seek further information and guidance on how to ensure safety for pupils, their families and staff.

The health and safety of our school community is paramount. We will be looking closely at ways in which we can maintain social distancing, establish hygiene routines and enable your child to feel safe and secure in their school environment.

As the Prime Minister’s plan is only conditional and as guidance on how schools can make safety plans is not yet forthcoming, I advise you not to make any promises to children about returning to school which may not be able to be kept. In addition, school is unlikely to look the same as it did for children before lockdown for the foreseeable future. The plan is likely to include significant staggering of children – there will be no immediate return of whole classes on 1st June. In addition, staffing will look different as some staff are shielding or are caring for vulnerable loved ones.

We will keep you updated on developments as they happen via the school website and our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If you need to contact us, we are available Monday – Friday between 8:30 and 4pm on 0191 267 4315 or you can email or .

In the meantime, carry on being brilliant, our online Facebook lessons will carry on as usual. Our teaching staff are available to respond to messages via the Facebook groups and would be delighted to see your child’s work uploaded to the groups!

Stay safe, take care and keeping looking after each other.
