June Newsletter (2)
Dear Parents, Carers and the Lemington community,
Here are the latest updates from school with a busy and exciting few weeks ahead of us.
Sports Day 2022
Our Sports Day takes place this Wednesday 29th June at Knoplaw Primary School (Hillhead Parkway, Chapel House, NE5 1DS). The event starts at 10am and will be finished for around 11:30am. Parents/carers are welcome to come and watch the event. Limited car parking is available at Knop Law. There will be a marked area for spectators and we ask that parents/carers remain within this space throughout the event. Children will be taken to and from the sports day on coaches with staff supervising. We would like to place on record our thanks to Ms Simpson and her team at Knop Law for allowing us to borrow their school field for the morning!
Charlton Street Community Hub
We are very excited about the development of a new community hub in our upper building. The ‘Charlton Street Hub’ will be ran and managed by Action for Children alongside Newcastle Children & Families.
The team developing the Hub are really keen to hear from you what facilities/services you think would be useful to have within the hub. You are invited to email any thoughts to lucy.brown@newcastle.gov.uk
End of year reports, parents evening and new class transition days
Our parent/carer meetings will take place ‘in person’ on the evenings of Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th July between 3:30pm and 6pm each day – information of how to book your appointment will be sent out soon. At those meetings, your child’s class teacher will share with you their written end of year report. It is always one of the highlights of my year as headteacher reading about your child’s achievements over the year! Also, on Tuesday 12th July children across the school will spend the day with their new teacher for September.
