JUNE 2021 NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents, Carers and the Lemington community,
Welcome back to the second half of the summer term – I hope you all had a lovely break in the sunshine!
COVID-19 REMINDERS:
Whilst we continue to move forwards out of the pandemic, just a few reminders to keep us all safe:
- Please continue to wear face coverings in and around the school grounds if you are 12 years or older (unless medically exempt).
- Your child should not attend school if they develop any of the following symptoms: high temperature, new continuous cough, loss/change of taste/smell.
- You must inform us at your earliest convenience if your child or anybody in your household develops symptoms or tests positive for Covid-19. You can contact us using the details at the top of this letter.
EARLY YEARS OPEN EVENING:
We still have a limited number of places available in our Nursery and Reception classes for September 2021. On Thursday evening (10th June) (4 – 5:30pm) we will be holding an open evening in Early Years for members of the community to come and check out our Early Years indoor and outdoor environments as well as the opportunity to meet the staff team. We offer 30-hour places for all of our Nursery children and children can attend our Nursery after they turn 3 years old.
PARENT/CARER EVENINGS & END OF YEAR REPORTS:
Subject to the Government restrictions easing further, we are planning to host parent/carer evenings at school on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th June between 3:30pm and 6:00pm, where you will have the opportunity to chat with your child’s class teacher and collect your child’s end of year report. More details to follow.
DRINKS AND SUN CREAM:
As we begin to finally enjoy the summer weather, please can I request that parents/carers ensure their children have sun cream applied before the school day.
Also, a reminder that all children are welcome to bring a bottle of water, still flavoured water or fruit squash into school, however fizzy pop, energy drinks and isotonic drinks are not allowed (this includes in children’s packed lunches). Thanks for your cooperation with this.
UNIFORM:
Thanks to all parents/carers who have returned the updated contact forms. A reminder to get them back to us before the end of this week (11th June) to ensure we order your child’s free LRPS hoodie. Hoodies will be with us before the end of term and will be included as part of our uniform policy from September 2021.
A reminder that our relaxed uniform policy, following Lockdown 3.0, remains in place until the end of this term. Children will be expected to wear full school uniform again from the beginning of September 2021 – full details of our uniform can be found on our website under the ‘Parents’ and ‘Uniform’ tabs. All of our school uniform can be purchased from Elite Embroidery at Bells Close (Front Street, NE15 6XY).
Take care,
Mr. Heeley
