END OF YEAR NEWSLETTER – JULY 18th 2019

Dear parents, families and the community of Lemington,

As we draw to a close the 2018/2019 school, this letter contains some of the latest news and celebrations from school as well as important information for the new school year.

SPORTS DAY 2019

Thank you to everyone who attended our Sports Day at Knop Law Primary School this week. It was a great morning and the children competed superbly! Congratulations to Millennium Bridge House who were crowned 2019 champions!

FAREWELL TO YEAR 6!

We say goodbye to our Year 6 children on Friday with a special assembly for Year 6 parents at 1:30pm (there’s also an earlier assembly at 9:15am). Many of our Year 6’s have been with us at LRPS all the way from Nursery and have achieved so much during their time with us. We were incredibly proud of our Y6 SAT’s data this year – the children worked so hard for these tests and achieved superbly. I would like to wish all of our Year 6 children the very best of luck for the future – and also thank you as parents for your support during their time at our school.

NEW CURRICULUM:

We are launching a very exciting new curriculum here at Lemington Riverside in September. You can find out much more about it by visiting the ‘Curriculum’ section of our website.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

We break up for the summer break at the earlier time of 2:30pm on Friday 19th July. School re-opens for children in Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 at 8:45am on Wednesday 4th September. For children in Reception, school will re-open on Thursday 5th September (Nursery new starters will have received their start date from Miss Jeffcock/Mrs. Corr). We are pleased to confirm that our Early Years Building is now fully refurbished and will be ready for our children in September.

For all other dates for your diary, please check out the ‘Calendar’ section of our website.

NEW UNIFORM:

All of our new school uniform can now be purchased from Elite Embroidery on Bells Close. The shop is open between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday. We are pleased that Elite offer cheaper prices than our previous supplier. We also took on board parent feedback that suggested you would prefer to buy in a shop rather than online.

Our school uniform from September 2019 is as follows:

-          Blue school V-neck jumper or cardigan with new school logo.

-          White shirt/polo-shirt or light blue shirt/polo shirt.

-          Black or grey school trousers/skirt/shorts.

-          Black shoes or trainers.

-          New school tie (optional) (this will be available at a later date during the holidays).

-          Other optional extras: Reading bag, PE bag, school water-proof coat.

Thanks to our models James and Ruby for modelling our new uniform (see photos at the bottom of the page)

Our PE kit from September 2019 is as follows:

-          White cotton t-shirt (t-shirts with our logo on are available at Elite Embroidery).

-          Black or blue shorts.

-          Trainers or plimsolls.

Please note that our jewellery policy states that one stud ear-ring per ear is allowed.

A reminder that all mobile phones and any other electrical devices must be handed in to the school office every morning for safe-keeping.

Have a great summer and we will see you all in September!

Take care,

Mr. Heeley (Head Teacher)
