December Newsletter 2

Dear parents and carers,

A few updates from school as we come to the end of a busy term!

MR. MURPHY APPOINTED AS PERMANENT DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER:

Mr. Murphy has been our ‘acting’ Deputy Head Teacher since September 2020 and I can confirm with you that the Governing Body have appointed Mr. Murphy to this position on a permanent basis from 1st January 2021. Congratulations Mr. Murphy!

HOLIDAY DATES:

We break up from school for the Christmas holidays at the normal time this Friday 18th December. School re-opens for all children on Tuesday 5th January from 8:45am.

COVID SYMPTOMS OVER THE HOLIDAYS:

The good news is the picture is looking much better across school and attendance last week was really positive, averaging at 97% across the school.

It’s important that we still remain alert to the virus though to limit Covid-19 spread in our community. If your child develops Covid-19 symptoms (new persistent cough, high temperature, loss/change of taste/smell) or tests positive for Covid-19 up to and including Monday 21st December (48 hours after last school attendance) you will need to inform school by emailing admin@lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk – Mr. Heeley will be checking the emails at 12pm daily until that date and will liaise with Public Health England if any further actions are required by other families.

On behalf of all of the staff here at Lemington Riverside Primary School, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and thank you for your support throughout 2020.

Take care,

Mr. Heeley – Head Teacher
