COVID-19 - LATEST UPDATE

Dear Parents, Carers and the Community of Lemington,

As you will be aware, the COVID-19 situation continues to dominate everyone’s conversations at the moment. It is an ever-changing situation and we will continue to give you the very latest updates via our website (www.lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk), and our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

As I write this letter, the Government and Public Health England are ordering that all schools remain open. We will continue to follow the latest advice and keep school-life as normal as possible for our children here at Lemington Riverside.

If your child develops any of the following symptoms then you must self-isolate them in your home for seven days:

-       A new, continuous cough.

-       A high temperature.

-       A fever.

Any children who have to self-isolate will have their absences authorised by the school.

As with any situation such as this, we have clear plans in place at school detailing what we will do in a range of scenarios. For example, if school is ordered to close at any point, our teachers and teaching assistants are busy compiling work booklets that children can complete whilst at home – these will be completed by Wednesday. Please note that we have also developed a page on our website under Pupils > Keep Learning At Home with a range of online resources that children can access at home.

I will update you as often as I can with the latest updates and I would urge you to regularly check our website and social media channels, as this is the quickest and easiest method for us to share information.

Wishing you and your family the very best at this tricky time – please rest assured that my team and I here at Lemington Riverside will continue to work hard to ensure our children receive the very best education and support through the coming weeks and months.

Take care,

Mr. Heeley (Head Teacher)
