Christmas 2022 at Lemington Riverside
Dear all,
We are excited to share our plans for Christmas 2022 with you all – after a few years of our festive activities being disrupted by the pandemic – we are so excited to have a wonderfully magical Christmas planned for our brilliant Lemington Riverside children, including the much anticipated return of Christmas performances!
Festive dates for your diary:
Thursday 8th December – Whole-school visit to the ‘Cinderella’ pantomime at Theatre Royal, Newcastle. We will have lunch in school and will be back at school for approximately 4:50pm. Another letter with further details will be sent out before the trip.
Friday 9th December – Our LRPS Christmas Choir will visit Waverley Lodge care home to sing Christmas songs to the residents.
Tuesday 13th December – Our LRPS Christmas Choir will visit the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle to sing Christmas songs to the gallery visitors.
Wednesday 14th December – Christmas ‘Stay and Play’ for 0-3 year olds and their grown-ups, in the Main Hall.
Wednesday 14th December - Our LRPS Christmas Choir will visit John Lewis in Eldon Square to sing Christmas songs to the Christmas shoppers!
Thursday 15th December – Christmas Jumper Day! Get your Christmas jumpers on and Christmas accessories!
Thursday 15th December – Christmas Dinner Day! Our fantastic chef Gillian and her team will be preparing a delicious Christmas dinner. If your child doesn’t usually have a school meal, but would like to on that day, please inform the office by Friday 9th December.
Thursday 15th December – Mr. Heeley has been in contact with some very special visitors at the North Pole who will be making a visit to Lemington Riverside, but only if everybody has been good!
Friday 16th December – The children will visit Sugley Church in Lemington for a special Christmas service.
Monday 19th December – The Early Years (Nursery & Reception) Christmas Performance takes place with showings at 9:30am and 1:30pm in the main hall.
Tuesday 20th December – The Middle Years (Years 1, 2 and 3) Christmas Performance takes place with showings at 9:30am and 1:30pm in the main hall.
Wednesday 21st December – The Upper Years (Years 4, 5 and 6) Christmas Performance takes place with showings at 9:30am and 1:30pm in the main hall.
Each child will receive two tickets each their Christmas performance. At each performance we will have a special 50/50 prize draw, with tickets priced at £1 each. We will also have a children’s Christmas Raffle on the final day of term, tickets will be priced at £1 per strip. If you would like to donate any sweet treats, new unused toys, etc. for the children’s raffle – please bring them to the main office. Any businesses donating prizes will have their company logo shared on our social media pages & our newsletters during the spring term as a thank you.
Thursday 22nd December – Christmas Raffle draw and Christmas movies in class.
Thursday 22nd December – We break up for the Christmas holidays at the normal end of day times (3pm for Nursery, 3:15pm for all other year groups).
Monday 9th January 2023 – School re-opens at 8:45am for all children.
